What to Do When it Rains

It's raining out, and you've got a meeting you cannot miss. The rain is pounding against the pavement and making a drumroll out of your roof. How are you going to drive safely in this?

Luckily, Ford has compiled this list of tips:

Be sure to slow down when it's raining. The ground will be slippery, making sudden braking a hazard, and visibility will be reduced. Driving slower mitigates both these problems.

Turn on your headlights. Again, this is all about visibility, both for you and other cars. Another driver might not see you through heavy rain, but they will see your headlights shining through the mist.

Avoid roads that are flooded. Even if you've got an SUV or truck, you can still receive flood damage, or be swept away in relatively shallow water.
